Cary Stump Cost Consulting LLC

Cary Stump specializes in cost consulting for U.S. shopping center owners. After years of experience as a Chief Estimator for general contractors, Cary spent 13 years as Chief Estimator for Westfield and Macerich. Cary Stump Cost Consulting clients have been Macerich, Taubman, PREIT, Howard Hughes, and Kimco as well as smaller Owner/Developers of shopping centers.

Project responsibility has been for projects from $1 million to $500 million, both retail and mixed-use. Estimates include both hard costs and soft costs. Many estimates are from preliminary work letters, lease outline drawings, or sketches to help the Owner/Developer decide how to structure a deal. When projects proceed services include helping to keep the project on schedule and on budget during the design phase. Cary has created estimating software specific to retail and mixed-use that facilitates creating reliable estimates quickly.

Post-graduation 1983, residential hardwood floor refinisher, then estimator at Richard Dallett, Inc, in Gladwyne, PA for almost a decade bidding residential hardwood flooring installation and refinishing services.

Rep for wholesale import/export fair-trade exotic hardwood flooring for Cinnaminson, NJ manufacturer 1993. Rep for Charles Taylor & Sons wholesale hardwood flooring division, Wilmington, DE.

Hired 2006 by Charles F. Beatty III of Beatty Drywall Systems, Inc., who taught me commercial estimating. Senior Estimator Burton Construction Co LLC in Hockessin, DE 2015 to 2023.

GC’s I’ve received project awards from and consequently PM’d to client turnover: BPGS (Buccini-Pollin Group); Pettinaro; DSM; Bancroft Construction; Gillis Gilkerson; GGA; Nason; Wohlsen; Miken; AMA; CSG; Reybold Group, many others. Awards $30k – $3.2m.

Scope typically DIV 05; 07; 09. CFMF; GWB; Sheathing; Air & Moisture Barriers; FRP, ACT, Blocking; Specialty & Custom Ceilings; Sealants, Rated Assemblies; Occasionally DEMO and Trusses. Little work in wood (except for blocking), all CFMF.
